Autumn Term 1


Our Power of Reading book this term is a novel called Treason by Berlie Doherty. Treason is a historical adventure that sees a young boy propelled into a dangerous and unpredictable world. Through this novel we will be developing our ability to respond to a text through debating contentious issues as well as focusing on new vocabulary. We will be writing letters, diary entries and even our own riddles!


In effective maths this term we will be focusing on:

  • Place Value
  • Addition and subtraction using the column method
  • Multiplication and division


In science this term we will be learning about properties and changes of materials. We will be investigating reversible changes, how mixtures might be separated and how new materials can be formed.
